Berkley choppo Vs whopper plopper

Featured Replies

What’s the difference? I’ve read the choppo handles little bits of floating grass a bit better

The choppo is louder. I prefer the plopper.

Choppo has the hard tail, Plopper soft tail, results in one being louder than the other, if you fish alot of rocky areas or around docks/trees the plopper has a more durable tail since its rubber.

They are both good, but usually can get the Choppo for $6 on sale most of the year.

Get one of each and find what works best in your waters.

I've used both and caught fish. Can't really say one is better than the other.

I find the the smaller choppos start spinning quicker than the smaller whopper ploppers .  Comes down to the hard tail vs soft tail mentioned above.  I use both and catch on both.

Use them both but catch more top water fish, at least this year on a Devils horse ?.

I have several Whopper Ploppers and several Choppos.  The Choppos start instantly so you can do a start/stop retrieve more easily.  Also, the white ghost color leads the plopper league for catches in my tackle box.

I prefer the Plopper

I actually broke the tail on the one Choppo I had setting the hook on a bass. It was a freebie I found at work so no money out of my pocket.  It was a fish catcher for sure! The replacement will be a WP.
