Crankbait ID

Featured Replies

Found this on the bank about 5 years ago and it was stored away to this spring where it became a real producer.  I see some similarity to a KVD so maybe its an older version.

Any guess on model color scheme?

Looks quite a bit like a Rapala Crankin rap CRR-5.

If that's what it is, sadly it's discontinued. They are some of my absolute favorites

The Rapala Crankin Rap . Those baits were made by Strom first,  they were called Big Bass Crankbaits . They have been very good baits for me. The rear hook hanger isnt attached to the back, it hangs off the bottom just like the Wiggle Warts.

I am guessing Storm by the looks of it?

Once I used the large sized in red craw at night  and caught two lunkers off a point.

Storm was purchased by the same co. that owns Rapala and they were rebranded as Rapala Crankin Raps.

VMC didn't buy Rapala - they entered a merger...which is why it's known as Rapala-VMC Corp.

It's also public with shares owned by many different investors....including Shimano holding just over 2% of shares...and is traded on NASDAQ Helsinki

Anyway the same exact lure went by Storm Big Bass and Rapala Crankin Rap.
