got it... the new outfit.. WOW!!!

OK this is the deal... I am sure that you don't have to have big expensive rods and reels to be a good angler... but I tell you what... I just spooled up my MG50 with 12lb hybrid and slapped it on my brand new IMX rod and took it outside and did a bit of practice pitching with it... all I can say is WOW.. the setup is light light LIGHT.. and smoooooth... I am not the best at pitching but I was putting my bait where I wanted it.. maybe not a teacup but a plate size spot CONSISTANTLY... I am very excited... I can't wait till my fishing parter gets back from Missouri so we can go try and catch some smallies...

so in summery its this... while the fish don't care that I have a bit of a higher end setup like this... just in the way it feels and how light it is I have a HUGE confidence boost and THAT my friends WILL put more fish in the boat everytime... plus I can fish this setup all day long and not get tired... that is a bonus too! I am already saving for another MG 50 and IMX... it might take me a year to save it up... but its definately worth it!

thanks for putting up with my excitement ;)

True, BUT good equipment can (and usually will) really make an angler better.  Lighter and more sensitive rods will only improve what you as an angler bring to the table.  A light reel adds to that, but to a lesser degree.

Enjoy the new combo, it's a sweet one!!

Now you know what 's the difference between a 6 ounce reel and an 8+ ounce reel.

Been saying it for over a year, but apparently nobody listens.
