There are several wildlife around Toledo Bend & the firefighters are using Super Scooper planes to help fight the fires. I showed this video to my grandson Aiden, the first words out his mouth was, I wonder how many bass they scooped up.

I'm like, no dude that ain't a new fishing technique!

In 1998 we had the worst fires in Florida in my life.

A story I heard but never confirmed: A man was swimming in a lake and got scooped up by aerial firefighters and dumped on the fire. He died of course , in the story. There were variations of the aftermath saying things like “ his charred skeleton was found” and whatnot. I was never sure whether to laugh or cry at the story.

All I can say is, if it was true, it was his time to go…

I heard that story also.
If I remember right they identified him from the markings on his tanks

So he was diving at the time supposedly? I seem to remember that.
