Generally speaking when new BR member joins they will post their PB, it doesn’t mean they caught it recently. Mine last was caught 1993 it’s now 2023 that is30 years ago!

I haven’t noticed as many this year either. It certainly wasn’t me. I didn’t come close this year. 
I was flirting with it in 2018-19, when I caught 2 that were close.

Actually caught the longest fish ever in 2019, which was almost 2 inches longer than the weight-wise pb.

Thanks @RipzLipz you are absolutely right, I have so much to be thankful for and I appreciate the kind words!!  It's true things have been tough in a lot of ways, but I'm extremely lucky to be back to work, that was a huge weight off of me.  I got a very good severance package from my previous employer which helped tremendously while I was job hunting.  We found a great school for my daughter, she loves it and we won't have to deal with political nonsense being shoved down her throat.  Hopefully the other two kids will be attending as well when they reach her age.  And most of all, everyone is safe and healthy.

I caught my PB way back in the early 90’s when a buddy and I fished all the time. Got married, got a house and had kids and drifted away from fishing up until 5-6 years ago. I’m more serious about it now than I ever was but I’ve not been able to beat my pb or at least while I had a scale with me. Caught 2 fish 1-2 years ago that I thought might do it but no way to know for sure.

The quest continues.

Fishing in the glades gives me plenty of big fish, so much so that I don't even weigh them anymore. If I had to guess, I'd say most of them run from 7 to 9lbs, which is good enough for me. I do carry a scale for fish that I believe are over 10lbs. I once lost a 12 pounder after weighing her. Of course I wanted a photo, so I put her back into the water for a quick breath and then with a quicker tail slap, away she went. Those big bass are so much stronger than we think!
