Loomis GLX 804C for skipping

Featured Replies

My current jig skipping rod doesn't have a soft enough tip so I'm thinking of replacing it. Anybody use the GLX 804c for skipping? I'm having a hard time finding any info on this rod.

Thanks

I dont have GLX but I have conquest 804C MBR and I use it for so many thing(Almost anything in weight range), Jigs, Weighted T-Rig and ETC...

The tip is very good for sniping but I personally was luckier by using my 6'10" Shaula rod with scorpion 151 DC reel. I did ask help from pros here and I practically cast about 2000 times under dock and I got nest about 500 times, The issue is you as angler and if you master it, I believe you can do it with any rod including GLX 804C. Goodluck

@Adrift I think any 4 power mbr would be a great rod for skipping.  I feel like that tip allows one to do most anything.  I still suck at skipping, but this was super helpful for my beginnings....

A GLX 844 mbr is a beautiful 1/2oz jig skipping rod.  I prefer the 7’ length.

I had used the NRX 804c with great success for skipping activities from the kayak!  If the GLX shares the same rod characteristics, I would definitely recommend it!
