All the hype is out there, but has anyone tried this new bait.  I just found one at BPS and looking for any info.

For years.  We called them fat ikas

They move underwater nearly exactly the same as the krej...

I couldn’t find anything searching under Berkeley Kreg but saw krej. An Ika is a soft plastic so is this Kreg a soft bait or a typo? The bait monkey 🙈 🙉 🙊 wants to know.

I was being glib.  Hard or soft they move the same

It's a sinking hardbait with a upturned bill.  It sinks at a foot per second, and when you real in it rises with a wobble.  When you stop reeling it wobbles backward on slack line.  Have not seen another hardbait that does this.  Has the body shape of a Rapala #11 except with a long up turned bill.

I threw it for smallmouth on FFS. It’s pretty cool to be able to get a jerkbait style bait down 40ft to the smallmouth. Unfortunately they were not on any sort of a minnow bite that day. They were definitely after something on the bottom. So I didn’t play with it very long. I am sure it will have its time to shine.  I could see someone also using it around docks like an ikea or a flying lure as well.
