Bass X Swimbait rod

Featured Replies

Anyone have any experience with the st croix Bass X swimbait rod?   Looking to pick one up in the newest model.  Plan to throw Gantarel JRs, Vatalions, 6-8” Magdrafts and spro rats.   Not sure if I should go with the 3/4 - 3oz model or the 2-5oz model.   Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have that rod.  I like it for up to the full 3oz.  Great 6" magdraft rod and pretty good with spro kgb shads.  75 bucks from St Croix now is a no brainer.  I've had no issues with the handle yet, even if I do I have their warranty.

Never held a Bass X. But for $75 each I'd get the XH and XXH and you'll be covered.

Already looked at them for $75 each but the st croix factory store doesn’t ship to Canada.  So I have to find them locally here at a discount or something else.  🤷🏻‍♂️   Maybe lll just give the Heavy a try and see what’s what.

Where in Ontario are you???  I got a buddy in Massena NY on St Lawrence who'll hold it for you

Since those are all treble hook baits and comfortably within the range of both rods I'd say you can't lose either way. However, if you think you may throw the 8" magdraft a lot or get into bigger rats/wake baits I'd go with the 2-5oz.

Couldn’t help myself, i just orded the 7’10” HF. Putting it with the Cardiff 300 i just picked up barely used with a full brand new spool of braid for $60
