Daiwa Steez Warranty Repair

Featured Replies

I wanted to give a shoutout to the continued great service I get from daiwa on their warranty repair on my steez rods. I am not affiliated with daiwa in any way and stand nothing to gain from this. As usual, I was sending in another rod for a broken guide. This typically happens because as we know the AGS guides can be fragile. Between my two steez rods I typically break a guide once a year. This is admittedly my fault as when I tournament fish with the guys I’m usually junk fishing with lots of rods on deck. I typically am heading from spot to spot rather quickly with a rod strap tied down on quite a few rods. Ultimately, throughout a season one guide typically breaks. This normally costs me anywhere from $15-20 based on me having to ship the rod to daiwa.

in this case, I sent them my bottom contact that included a note around a slight crack I observed between the forgrip and the butt cork. I honestly don’t know if this developed as a result of my trolling motor stabilizing hitting it or potentially from heat. Either way, I included the note to daiwa to take a look. When I got home today I opened the tube to see a brand new rod, my sleeve I sent the old one in and a new steez sleeve. I know Daiwa doesn’t get the notoriety that Loomis does so I figured I’d let you guys know. These Steez rods are fantastic and the power pitch and bottom contact are winners.

Very nice!  Glad to hear it all worked out and thank you for taking the time to provide this valuable feedback.

I’ve had Daiwa send me screws and springs for free, and ship parts the day of many times. Best customer service.

Would never spend money on a rod with "as we know the AGS guides can be fragile", let alone spend $400+ on a rod like that when there's plenty of titanium guides from fuji that will last you an eternity.

I enjoy the uniqueness of the steez line with the AGS guides. I’m not aware of production rods that match their weight, sensitivity, power, actions that match them. I don’t know if a loomis that matches the power pitch. Maybe the new 874C does. I know the bottom contact is right around a competitor of the NRX 894. To each their own.
