First Timer Here

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

I am taking a "first time" trip to kayak fish the Chick in early October.

I will be fishing the Soddy Creek area and am wondering what kind of gear I need?

Like what pound test line, lures and ANY other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I like 10lb braid. Ned rigs, tubes, cranks, spinners are always great to throw. I am not sure of the area you’re fishing so I can’t comment what is next there. As far as specific brands? I don’t really think into it all that much with baits. As long as it’s doing what you want it to there is no magic fish catcher.

Frog, 50 lb braid for chickamauga in October. Also have something to pitch around when it slows down like a fluke/senko. Small cranks and walking baits can also be good on the main channel grass wall
