Suggestions on pairing a reel with a ST. Croix EYECON, 6’6 ML fast action ?

Featured Replies

I have a St. crook EYECON WALLEYE SERIES, 6’6 ML fast action!  Anyone have a suggestion what reel would pair well with it?  Price isn’t a big issue, all about the feel!

thanks

A fuego or exceler for about 100$ will feel great, but if you want to invest in something thats really light and is a blast to use then upgrade to vanford.

2500 or 3k depending on the style of knob you like and the length or the handle.  The spool size is a couple MM difference, not much difference in performance with that guide train.

@TRENTON FISH Although it’s out of my price range the Shimano Vanquish has recently been reviewed by @FishTank and he gave it high praise along with @bulldog1935 and I would take their recommendations very seriously. My personal top end spinning reel is a Shimano Stradic FL and I love it.

I would of course suggest the Vanquish but also look at the Twin Power. I have been fishing both and like both. The Twin Power for a about $50 to $75 less (JDM Price) is equally as smooth but it is a bit heavier and the drag is not quite as nice as the Vanquish.
