Landed Myself………..…..In The Hospital

Featured Replies

Friend died from pneumonia, talked to him and he sounded like bad crap was in his lungs, coughing during our talk telling me he had a bad cold. Called him back 2 months later and his wife answered his phone, he died, he was a resident in las vegas.

@Spankey

Sorry to hear that you've been having a tough time health wise.

Hope it can resolve sooner later than later and without any lasting effects.

Take Care

I feel the last two days there has been a good change in the way I feeling. We are having a nice break from that extreme temp and difficult air we had for many days straight. I’m just trying to honor everyone’s wishes to not go back to what I normally would do or want to do. I will. But did miss two great mornings on the water, but that’s ok. We are expecting some real rain for a day or so. I suspect the bite will pick up some because of it. I don’t want to go in reverse so I’ll chill for a couple of more days.
I hope you guys never get it. But I’ll tell you what sucks. And meds may affect everyone differently. I was on this steroid for 4-5 day and I couldn’t sleep. They cause insomnia. 1 1/2 hours of sleep a day for 4 days. That was tough.
Pneumonia is serious, listen to your body (I didn’t quick enough) and not be aah oh well. I’m not a big fan of the doctor. Going to one or being around one. But I made a couple of appointments for some check up. Routine stuff, I’ll try to be a bit smarter.
Don’t get dehydrated. Even if you think you are hydrated, you may not be. I drank more water this past week than I did for the last month. I never thought dehydration was behind this. But it was.

You guys have fun while you’re. I’ll be back out at it soon. Got to get those grandsons back out. The 3 year old is a piece of work. I’m gonna get him to fish some soft plastics this next trip.

Been on those types of steroids and yes they do kill your ability to sleep, i was prescribed a dosing pack and had to complete it over 7 days and i knew i was screwed.

Who’s laying around in bed for 20+ hours a day. In my case I don’t care if I have pneumonia a broken foot or whatever else possible out there I ain’t laying to bed all day. I have a thing about being somewhat productive as long as I’m alive.

Got back out on the water yesterday for first time since dealing with the bout of pneumonia. Trip down to the river. Did not stay out long, caught the coolest part of the morning from 5:00 - 8:00 am. Thought it would be the easiest thing on my lungs. I feel 100% better but not sure if I am 100% better. Have a dr. appointment on Monday and I guess they will let me know where I am. I think it will take a bit longer to be all the way out of the woods.
Didn't set the world on fire with anything of size. A couple of 13” smallies being the largest. Primarily throwing Pop-R’s and a few Flat Worms before packing it in. A Rapala Skitter Pop and Storm Chug Bug are a long time favorite and no. 1 go to but I was throwing around a few newer baits (new to me) BPS XPS Poppers in 1/5 and 7/16 oz., I found them to be a good bait. Don’t know if I would have made out any better if I had fished Rapala, Storm or Rebel I normally fish. They caught fish.
Hope I’m getting out from under this Pnemonia. I’ll see, but I think so. Some of the chronic symptoms are clearing up.
We need some real rain. The lake and the river needs some new water in it and a bit more flow.
Good luck to you guys.
