So my lady left this morning for a week long camping trip with her family. Once or twice a year they do this and its been going on for at least the past 8 or 10 years. Now don't get me wrong I love her very much and enjoy spending time with her but a little time apart helps a relationship in my estimation. For me this means I can watch whatever I want, cook whatever I want for supper and go fishing in the evenings if I feel so inclined-or just chill at home and have some whiskey. Not that I can't already do those things but its just nice from time to time to be on your own schedule doing your own thing.

My late great friend capt Kenny used to say “throw one shoe over here, one over there….”

I’ve got one of those coming up next Thursday-Sunday. No wife and no kid for almost 4 days. Just me and the dog. Always enjoy it.
