Mental health?  Yes, definitely.  It's like a form of meditation.  On particularly stressful days at work I like to go fishing on my lunch break.  I can easily feel the calming effects that just 15 minutes of fishing can have on my mind.

Financial health?  Eh... I've had worse hobbies.

I agree 100%.

Having been blessed with good health is something I don't take for granted and is the driving force which leads to elevated enjoyment...... and mental health well-being.

Have to totally agree with this. After spending time on the water I'm much more relaxed.

I can go fishing, not catch a thing and it’s still a good day, I’ll say I didn’t catch a thing with a smile.

I love the whole fishing thing, the casting, tackle, the gear, working on it, everything.

I’m have  piece of mind and feel relaxed when fishing.

Yeh I agree with all of it, especially the nature part, where you can even get annoyed by the obnoxious chattering noise the eagles make. 2-3 times in a week long trip I will have a loon get 5-10 feet from the boat, apparently they think I am a bit off and they ain’t wrong lol.

That said it goes to the point where my brain wrecks it and I analyze all the mistakes I made and how many fish I missed, usually though that happens off the water and I have a down period, but I do use it positively to learn and be better in the future.

I fish almost everyday for a hour or two in the afternoon.  As soon as I make that first cast i'm more relaxed and the problems of the day just fade away.  It's my form of therapy.  As long as the boat, and reels are functioning properly I don't even need to catch anything.   I am at peace mentally, and life is good.  This was especially evident while taking care of both my 95 year old parents both with dementia!
