Yamamoto Jigs

I got a few of these off FB marketplace to try out for $3/each. The seller has more, but wanted to check them out first before buying more. One has a fine skirt, the other has thicker rubber skirt.

Anybody ever use these? I've never fished Yama jigs before. I know they don't make them anymore. Any idea how old they are? The jigs themselves seems good quality, minus the hooks. The hooks are lighter wire, which is fine. But they aren't that sharp, at all, which surprises me a little.

I just went on eBay and checked out the seller.  I was expecting it to be an overseas retailer because for as long as I can remember, yellow packaging was for overseas release only and I don’t ever remember getting any jigs for my own use.  I’m not confident the new ownership could tell me the date codes of old stock.  I still have some of the old white on clear and green on clear packaged plastics and an entire case of all the different hard baits they once offered but I do not have any of these jigs.  They are either very old stock or baits released for overseas use.

Interesting. Never knew Yamamoto made jigs.

Don’t know but it’s easy to see they’re nothing special. As far as collectible, perhaps..

GYCB (Yamamoto) offered plain or pianted football and spider jigs with optional Owner or Gamakatsu hooks for decades at a good price about .75c each.

Recommended Gary’s jigs w/Hula grub on BR multiple times.

Tom

PS, op ‘s living rubber jigs appear to be 80’s vintage judging from the hook.
