Season Ending Victory

Featured Replies

The lakes around here close on the 31st, so I played hooky from honey do's today and got out on the water. I only had four hours to fish, but I made the best of it: Four LM bass, the biggest was my best for the year from this lake, 4.5lb. Six trout, the biggest was 16in. Four giant perch and the the grand slam on my last cast was an eleven pound cat, all caught on the same BFS combo and a 1/4oz. Blade bait.  I never picked up another rod.

Last game of the season, bottom of the ninth, bases loaded and I crushed it! Freddie Freeman ain't got nothin' on the old man.

Or we both would rather be fishing. If that's the case, I must have a lot of kin on this site.

Well done Papa Joe!  Sounds like another day for the memory banks for SURE!  Multispecies with some big bass?  Doesn't get any better IMHO

Why do the lakes "close" on the 31st?  Aren't they public lakes?

Can confirm! I’ve been peppered by waterfowlers many times

As can I. Old gun club didn't think very well and put a skeet shooting setup in front of the pond they had for fishing. Well those pellets travel further than they though they would so if you were bank fishing every so often you would have a few pellets hit you from the sky.

As long as it’s not in the eye. You take a pellet to the eye and you probably lose your vision.

I shoot long range rifle competition.  Somebody hits me with a couple of pellets while goose hunting, he just may loose a toe and never hear it until it's too late.

Had an airsoft bb penetrate through the foam on the vent of my eye pro and hit me in the eye....was not a fun experience...so I agree lol.

People have no idea how far projectiles from a firearm can travel.

Luckily I've never been shot and I prefer to keep it that way.  My Grandfather was shot by another duck hunter trying to water swat a wounded duck about 100 yards away once and the only thing that saved his vision was the fact the he wore eyeglasses.

I seem to recall a former Vice President also shooting another hunter...

This is all definitely off topic but to drive your point home I'll add this. I regularly shoot 22lr out to 400-450yrds in competition and now they even have a 22ELR league that shoots 22lr out to 1000yrds. you tell most people you do that and theyll call you a liar. People really dont know.
