Anyone ever order a reel from Amazon?

Unfortunately it looks like Amazon has nuked all the Amazon Japan reel listings. All the deals on steez/tatula/zillion are gone and replaced by third party sellers.

I’m still seeing them, price is up from last week though

  • None of this is true on any sort of scale. It may have happened once and been inflated by the internet, but I have been buying rods on Amazon for a decade and never had a broken one. Or any problems w

The reels are still available but not via Amazon Japan. The Zillion HD for example is now offered by

Ichigo Ichie Japan for ~$100 more than the old Amazon Japan price. You can still find the Amazon Japan storefront but no more cheap reels.

Oh ok. I thought you meant reels that ship from Japan on Amazon US. They’re still available from the same seller on there, but the prices have went up. I haven’t looked at Amazon Japan in a while.

I recently ordered a Daiwa Tatula Elite from Amazon. $165 vs the $249 retail. No problems at all, and that reel is SWEET. Never have ordered a rod on there though, because most of the rods I'm interested in are the same price from the manufacture or TW. Would rather just order there.
