Since I already insulted A-Jay I’m finally on the board. My biggest today I dropped half way back to the boat. My second biggest went 5-14. Thats 5.875 divided by PA record 8.5 equals.69.11 x 100 for

Well it took me five days but I’m back on the board with an upgrade. 7lbs-6oz. That’s 7.375 divided by 9.0 times 100 equals 81.94 percent. I was fishing in New York waters Lake Ontario and the NY smal

So you want me to apply mathematics?  You’re such an optimist.

This was a lot of fun to follow along with! I hope to see this again next year, and maybe get to participate better!

Also, way to go NC holding down two of the top 3 spots!

I think you should add a category for Rock Bass.

Can you imagine it?  People actually TRYING to catch those swimming turds?

That's funny ~

Not sure folks will be wanting to weigh them.

I actually caught a few real bulbous units this summer.

We could add it as comic relief.

At least I might have a chance at winning it.

Oh wait, are there Rock Bass in NC ?

😜

I like this.  No real prize or recognition...since they aren't really a bass anyways.  But enough evidence and photos to make fun of them.

Some very nice fish were caught.  Congratulations to the winners.  Don't let the fame and fortune go to your head.  😀

My only suggestion for next year is to open up the entire year for competition.  The prime southern smallmouth season is December through February.  I'm sensing a conspiracy to exclude southern smallmouth fishermen from competing is this prestigious competition.  😀

Thank you, and perhaps not really a conspiracy.

This time around it was more of a spur-of-the-moment deal.

However, I have no problem starting it up again once the calendar flips to 2026

and then running it through the entire year.

Keep an eye out for it so you can be ready to start casting as soon as it pops up.

Now the Spotted Bass winner.

@Logan S caught a 3-5 spotted bass during practice for a weekend tournament.  Fish was caught on April 10th.

NC spotted bass state record = 6-5

3.3125/6.3125(*100) = 52.48

Congrats

Feel like I got this on a technicality somehow but I'll take it 😂.

You NC boys better beat a 3-5 spot next year, don't make a Marylander come down and do your work for you again next year 😂.

(totally kidding, if you couldn't tell)

This was a fun little forum game, AJay... Thanks dude!

I'm bummed I didn't get a smallmouth worth entering....Next year I'll get all 3!

Some of the people here refer to Striped Bass as Rock Bass or Rock Fish...you might confuse some of us 😂. I thought there was a whole new species I got to fish when I moved down here.

I know some stuff about Striped bass - we called them linesides.

But these where the original and not the sweet water model.
