Rage Swimmer Miscellany...

Featured Replies

Hello Gents,

Perusing TW and reloading on Jig stuff.  I tend to get dragged into the rabbit hole which is YouTube Jig fishing, and I decided to try a couple packs of the River2Sea D Walker to pair up with my Dirty Jigs California swim jigs in accordance to the recommendations of TacticalBassin.  Dunno how I'll feel about them, but I figure it's worth a shot.  Outside of this experimental purchase on my part, I'm really just kinda thinking I'll pair the Dirty Jigs with a 4.75" Rage Swimmer.  I know the Rage topic is discussed at length, so I'm not trying to beat a dead horse here, but I don't really see a lot of guys talking about these being great swim jig trailers, relatively speaking.  I think these will impart a great action on the bait and I can get a larger pack for a more reasonable price point... Again, I understand that these are standard jig trailers in most guys arsenal, but they never seem to be at the top of most guys lists.  Thoughts on this? Seems strange to me.

Most of the time the TB guys recommendations are legit and the D walker is no exception.  Its got good roll, so the swimjig has secondary movement without having to do anything but reel.  Another thing I really like about the D walkers are that theyre made from a stiffer plastic and arent loaded with salt.  The lack of salt and stiffness makes them extremely durable.

The DJ swim jigs are good, and theyre available in almost too many good colors.  I prefer Greenfish swim jigs, but that's just personal preference.

What size D Walker for 1/4 & 3/8oz swim jigs? Thanks Riley

It's a legit pairing that has become one of my favorite ways to fish.  There's a d-walker in there, I swear.

I throw the 120mm on a 3/4oz most of the time and 1/2oz sometimes.  A 100mm would be my choice for the lighter heads.

The 3/4oz dj cali jig w/ a 120mm d-walker is a great night bait as well.  Moves enough water to get hammered on my lake.

Dwalkers and biospawn are better on swimjigs than a keitech imo. Bit stiffer plastic, better suited to the faster pace.

I use the 100mm (4") D walker on a standard size and the dirty jigs swim jig (which is about the average size, the hook and guard are just lighter and the skirt is one layer instead of 2)

I would recommend the Xzone swammer as well.  It rolls more than the D walker, but it doesn't last nearly as long as its much softer.

Surprisingly enough the Zoom swimming flukes roll like crazy.  I put the swimming fluke jr on finesse swim jigs like the chibi and it looks great.
