i have been casually working out details on my next Mexico bass fishing trip.    got to talking with a bud of mine.  we are of the same vintage.  we did Mexico this year, earlier.   last time, the Amazon river.   we figured we may as well start checking some bucket trips off the list.

looks like we are headed to Alaska instead.  Big Halibut and Salmon trip.  the guide said to not book a long trip because taking that much fish home is cost prohibitive.  haha.

looks like we hit Mexico the following year with a drivebyfishing visit to Florida.    i am working on filling my fishing resume up!!!  then i may "go".  :D

i cant wait until i get throw big topwaters to feeding tuna on the Ascension Islands!!!  (<----that may never happen), or cast big flies to Taimen Trout in Mongolia!!!  dreaming big here.

Nice. Should be an awesome trip! Alaska is the number 2 spot on my fishing bucket list. If it were me, I’d devote some time to go after grayling and dollies by fly in some wilderness streams.

my brother found a bone colored Choppo in a lake, and gave it to me.

last year, on the Delta that thing was like a bass magnet.    been pretty silent ever since :D

Now that’s hilarious lol. When I lived in Florida and we would canoe fish the mangroves. I used to paddle up close and clean the mangrove trees of the lures I could reach lol. Take them home and replace the hooks

Right now my big dream is to retire.

I will also be doing a mixed ocean/stream fishing trip to Alaska this summer at the invitation of a friend. Very much looking forward to it. Good luck with yours!

I've been several times. Darth, your friend was right a one day Halibut charter in the Cook inlet will get you plenty to send home. We used to use a processor in Soldotna, that vacuum bagged and blast froze your fish and then ship them on the day you specified.

You need to go to Maine to let @Swamp Girl show you how it's supposed to work. 🤣

Lake St. Clair is on the bucket list.

I also want to get back up to Quetico, preferably with my two sons.

I have been fortunate to have lived and fished in Alaska and Mexico.  My dream trip would be to fish the lakes and streams I fished where I grew up South of Spokane WA.  Big bonus would be fishing them with a couple of friends I grew up with.  We keep talking about making it happen, but life always gets in the way.

Someday, I would like to catch a smallmouth. When I lived up north never caught one. Now in the deep south we do not have any.  Someday???  #bucket list.
