How are you carrying jigs with the trailers on them?

Featured Replies

Right now I keep my jogs with the trailers on them in a zip lock bag. And throw it in my hip bag. How do you carrying jigs them?

I keep them all separate until it’s time to join powers.

I prefer to keep my plastics in their original package.

Laying in my boat somewhere.  For shore fishing, I have 2 small little plano boxes with rigs already made up roughly segregated by bottom contact and minnow presentations.  It works - ish.  Not sure I recommend :)

All of the above. When I cut them off I lay them somewhere to dry. At some point they make it into a tackle backpack storage or a Plano box. Generally they are just everywhere. Hard to leave home without them that way!

The majority of the trailers I use are infused with salt. They come off when the jig comes off, or at the end of the day and I rinse the jig and let it dry before it gets stored. Wasted a bunch of jigs to rusted hooks, so I'm OCD about it.

Most of the trailers I use aren't heavily salted or salted at all, so I put the jig and trailer back in the box normally.

I blow through jigs in wood and rock fast enough that rust never becomes a factor for me. That said, I occasionally find one stashed away from months ago and they didn't usual have rust either. Maybe bc no oxygen gets through plastic or something, I'm no scientist.

What will wreck a hook fast is leaving submerged in water pool in kayak, like a cupholder with no drain hole. Oops.

I put the trailer on when I get out to the water.  When I change baits, I take the trailer off and put it back in it's package.  I leave the jig out until it dries then I put it away.
