Over handling bass leads to post mortality and I don’t believe you want to kill the bass just to satisfy a static’s.

This is why I constantly advocate for immediate release tournament formats, especially when they are spawning or it’s the middle of summer when the water is very warm.

Too many bass anglers are obsessed with weighing their catch and showing it off in front of others.

Try holding your breath the entire time the fish is out of water. That made me think twice. 30 seconds or less.

Got the Donkey Leash the other day.

Absolutely love it.

I normally just kept them in my net and sat on the handle. 75% of their body would be in the water but maybe not their head.

Now I just clip their lip and let them swim as I gather the measuring board/camera.

If you are in a kayak I HIGHLY recommend.

Best $18 I've spent on fishing.

Speed is one of the reasons I use a Chattilon spring scale.  I can leave it laying out on the deck without worrying about damaging it.  It's indestructible.  When I catch a fish it is ready to weigh the fish.  I don't have to power it on or zero out the weight.  It is permanently zeroed with the weight of the gripper.

With regard to my previous thread on the kast king scale, I ended up buying another one of those because of price. I realized that mine became damaged from me abusing it (I left in floor of kayak, dropped fish and other things on it, etc.) and I just need to take better care of it. It is waterproof and floats. I'm reckless with damaging and losing equipment, so a nice scale would go to an expensive grave quickly in my setup. If I had a nice boat with protected, dedicated storage, I may buy something nicer. Probably not though.

I have the piscifun scales and have been mostly satisfied. The fish never weigh as much as my eyes tell me.
