G Loomis Xpeditor Service Question

Featured Replies

I have a G Loomis Rod that is about 3 years old and is well used.  The ceramic insert in the tip broke out of it (my error).  I have no receipt and it is a model of rod they currently still produce.  Is this rod eligible for the Xpeditor Service (obviously with me paying the $50) or is that service limited to certain types of damage (like un-repairable rod breaks, etc.)?  I read their website policy and it seems I can just send it back after I received the replacement, but I wanted to hear from some of you guys who are more familiar with the policy and may have even used it.  Thanks in advance.

Don't do that!

Call G.Loomis and ask them to send you a tip-top. You can easily replace it yourself, probably at no cost.

I dont think they would replace the rod for that, but I could be wrong.  The two rods i have sent in to be replaced were broken about halfway down.  You should call them first.

I agree with roadwarrior, call Loomis and they will send ou a new tip top.  then follow the instructions here: http://www.rod-crafting.com/articles/rod-tip-repair.html  (credit to ReelMech for the link)

Sooner or later you will step on it or have another accident that breaks the blank... I'd save the expiditer for those kinds of things.

Thanks guys for the advice and help. I never replaced a top guide, but it doesn't seem to impossible (thanks to flecheros link to the article - credit given to ReelMech). That will save me some money and my old faithful will be back in service.
