Soft Plastic Stowaway 3600

Featured Replies

Looks pretty handy. Plano Stowaways are standard of the sport for a reason, so you can be confident in buying them.

I can definitely see the value for a portable setup, I would use that in my pond/travel bag.

That's exactly what I'm thinking of it for, a pond and quick bank trip bag.

Dry creek Z gear pouch from Simms comes in a size that matches 3700 and 3600 (and 3500).  Yes at msrp they are pricey but they last for years (I'm on my 4th season).  I paid $20? on sale somewhere and do see them on sale at various places from time to time.  It's soft but no matter what I shove in there it maintains its basic shape.  Completely water proof too.  I pack a 3 day tournaments worth of plastics in it and am good to go.  We all get into bass fishing then sort of find obsessions within the sport.  Tackle storage while on the water is one of mine.  This bag sort of bums me out because I don't need to keep looking for better lol.

The one I had the bags didn't stay clipped in.

Thank you very much. This is good feedback. I had guessed this might be the case.

Thank you for the suggestion.

I picked up a used one of these boxes to try. We'll see how it goes. It'll probably take me a while to integrate it into my system. I'll have to change my bag to make it work. It might be just the ticket though for keeping flukes from getting scrunched and bent-tailed.

Still don't have my phone going, but when I do I'll get some pictures of it in use, when I figure out how to make it work for me.

I haven't figured out how to best utilize this box. I love the idea, but just looking at it, it's bulky, and not as handy as just keeping flukes in a standard box.

I've been using a thin 3600 box for flukes. I've noticed that flukes kinda cling to the box, which keeps them from shifting so much when in my bag. When they are in the original bag, they slide around too much and the tails get bent.

I can tell you what I do for my "quick grab" set ups. I use these for both land or boat fishing.

I have technique or bait specific mesh (or clear) bags. Inside, I have a selection of my "go to" baits in their original packaging and a packet or two of the most commonly used hooks/weights/terminal for that application. Each bag is labeled: Free Rig, Drop Shot, Neko, etc

All I do is grab and go into my sling and restock as needed. My sling will hold 4 of these grab and go bags, in addition to my 2 Ryugi wallets

I can provide photos to paint a better picture if required.

Ok.

My main sling bag will hold 4 of these bags. On the inside of the sling I have my Ryugi wallets, my Daiwa Sokkou, my Rapid Hook All and a spool of leader. And a few silica gel packets. Outside, I have the usual fishingl tools and a towel.

I have mesh and plastic style bags and I go back and forth trying to decide my preferred. I store them ready to go in a simple box. I label them for ease of finding them both here and in my sling.

You'll need a mesh or poly bag, a small poly bag, a couple of silica packs and baits!! I have a list of personal "all star" baits I use and I'll also bring along a new bait or two to try in each bag. Many of the baits I use are multi rig for various technique.  I'm confident that if I can't catch fish with the items I've brought along..the fish won't be caught at all.

Below is my Free Rig bag.

First, your specific terminal and hooks go in the small bag. This is so you can find your terminal by feel. It's easily found without looking. And it adds another layer to better protect from hook points and to keep things organized.

All other baits fit into the large bag and that bag goes into the sling. Now when I need something, I swing the sling bag around and peer into the bag and read the labels. Free Rig, Drop Shot, Neko, Swimbait, etc etc Then I open that bag, grab what I need.

It's extremely fast, convenient and easy.

All in all, I end up carrying a dozen or so different baits in 4 technique bags and enough terminal to rig most any way required.

All in a small, light pack.

I'm not exactly sure. Something less clean, less organized, less useful. That gives me some ideas for sure.
