Zona reported during the Lake St. Clair tournament that there was a known decline on the lake DUE to pings from FFS. Zona stated this while on air, live.

He doesn’t work for BASS now either.

The evidence might be anecdotal but oftentimes that’s all one needs.

I wondered if this would become a problem.

People have been saying for a couple years now that they will see bass "run away" from the FFS ping on pressured lakes.  I've seen what I think to be the same thing too - However do we really know if they are running away or did we just spotlight fish that were already moving?  Or is it the waves slapping the hull, etc?

I generally believe fish get conditioned to sonar and other boat noise, but its not really an exact science.

Right. I agree. Have you seen the change B.A.S.S. made on the tech? It was just announced..

All of the companies invested I'm sure are handing over bags of cash.

9/10 fans don't want it.

But they don't make much money from the fans.

Money is controlling everything, much like everything else in life.

I must be one of the ones that aren't the 9. They all got it, it's been out for a decade. Move on. That's just my opinion. They should also ban DC reels, spotlock trolling motors,  shallow water anchors as well. All technology used to give the angler an advantage.

I saw a YouTube video a little bit ago. No FFS for five tournaments, including practice. They can use it in four tournaments. Freely admit that I may have the numbers backwards. Still to be determined which tournaments will or will not have FFS. Not that it affects me one way or the other, but I’m good with that ruling. I’m no FFS fan, but that’s fair.

I fish in S. Cal, I can tell you from my own experience,  2021 when I put it on my boat, it was fun and easy. You could watch them eat it right under the trolling motor, wouldn't run from it. 2023, I saw more fish move away and avoid it, sink out, disappear. So do I still use it, absolutely.  It's more to locate where I saw fish, then fish that piece of structure or cover, locate edges, etc. They are conditioned to it and avoid it. I've seen the same thing with certain baits that are prominent.  Throw a 8" swimbait at a bass,  doesn't move,  pitch a ika close by and its gone. Fish learn and avoid.

An interesting ruling, thanks for sharing Glenn.
