Anyone know why the Elites got rid of the AOY Tournament each year in September?

 

It was held here in MN on Mille Lacs in 2015 and 2016 and I feel like shortly after that, it was simply dropped.  You had to qualify for it in the top 50, and it was only 3 days long, not 4.

Don't think the anglers liked it.

 

Only a couple guys actually had a chance to win AOY and they overshadowed the actual tournament and tournament winner...For a while the winner of the tournament didn't even get a trophy.

Do you have to remove your FFS? How do they lock you out?

Did I miss it somewhere?

Usually the transducer has to be removed.  That's how they apply that rule in the PMTT (Professional Muskie Tournament Trail).

One of the best scopers out there, Patrick walters, just won a non scope angler of the year in NPFL over the likes of hackney Christie and swindle……..

 

I thought they couldn’t catch em without their cheater box ? 😂

I'm sure it just depends.

 

I watched a Josh Jones interview yesterday and he basically said he couldn't catch those big fish without the technology.

 

He wasn't kidding, he was dead serious.

I haven't even bothered to look and I won't but I bet Old Randy Blaukat still hasn't said anything about Laker Howell winning two events without scoping.

 

That simply doesn't fit the narrative.
