On Sunday, my wife and I enjoyed a beautiful late September day on the water in our Old Town canoe.

This north woods morning on Lake Minichuck started off somewhat cool.

However, by mid-morning, bright, clear blue skies and flat, calm winds welcomed us.

The fishing conditions weren't ideal, but we made the best of it.

Soft plastics were the top producer for both of us, with a few topwater & spinnerbait fish thrown in for good measure.

We caught a variety of fun-sized fish on this trip, but the laughter and good times we share always surpasses the fishing.

We are eagerly anticipating our next fishing trip in the spring.
