Fishing the Rapala Original Floating Minnow?

The original silver and gold with black back for bass, trout for trout or bass believe it not works good. The CD 07 in trout an 09 minnow in Gold black back are other good bass lures.

PS, caught a one time 4# line class World Record Pacific Yellowtail on a F13 Silver Rapala.

Silver with black back. And in areas where sunfish or bluegills are the primary forage, gold with a black back. In areas where perch are the main forage us a perch or firetiger pattern. But honestly, the color is not as important as the action of the lure.

I believe I have lost my original floating Rapalas. Are the new ones you buy today as good as the ones you purchased many years ago? I may need to add one to my next order.

I think they are, and in fact the new ones have somewhat better quality hooks than the originals.

Any size, any knot, any species of fish, any day time on any water.  Just get it wet.

The hard to cast smallest ones in silver and black have caught many small striper in the canal above Piramid Lake in S Cal for me.  Twitch a #9 or 11 next to weeds in FL and hang on.
