Jumping Hooks: Plano Edge 3700 Problem

I just put individual sizes/types in these slide top boxes. They're not water/airtight so the silica-packs in my 3xxx boxes can dry them out. They'll stack two up in thin boxes, 3 on edge. Small size for most, larger size for 5/0-8/0 hooks. Smalls are $1 each in packs of ten, larges are $1.30.

Re-organized my Neko tackle today.

This thing is tiny...but holds plenty.

That is a cool little gig. Nice. @MN Fisher those are small enough to fit into the rows of a Plano box, or you're using them in a different way? Those are cool, and so are the bead organizers, @Elkins45. Thanks guys.

Usually just in my 3600s, but will work fine in 3700s as well. Pic showing:

Left top, 3700 - 4 on edge long and short

Left bottom - 3700 thin - 3x2 stacks

Right top - 3600 - 3 on edge

Right bottom - 3600 thin - 2x2 stacks

I label each container with a Brother  labelmaker

Glue a piece of perforated shelving to the underside of the lid.

Nothing moves.

Plano Edge Terminal Box 3700 is what you need for your tackle. The Utility box I don't think was designed for hooks and other terminal items.

I use the TB 3700 and all my tackle stays in one place.

^ Someone gifted me a 3700-Edge one FishMass....did NOT like it for several reasons....re-gifted it to someone else.

Plus for those of us on tight budgets, it's a ways out of the 'affordable' category. I can get 2-3700 Thins and 3 packs of the metal boxes for the same cost as one Edge-Terminal box at Amazon prices.

Awesome - thanks guys - @MN Fisher this is super clever man. I'm going to check these little tins out - thanks!

@Texas Flood I think you're right - I thought the top seal would be tighter on the Edge 3700 slim that I purchased because on my "regular" Plano 3700s (Prolatch Stowaway) I don't have anything jumping around.

For the Edge, I'm not even carrying split rings or anything like that - my 1/0 Grip-Pin hooks are jumping compartments. Maybe I got a defective one?

I'm curious about the Edge Terminal box but man... I already had to get myself pretty hyped to spend $35 on the first one... the terminal option is $50 (more if I pony up for different terminal compartments) plus with all of those little boxes inside big box, I feel like we're losing a substantial amount of storage real estate.

Curious to hear your thoughts, and thanks for the info so far.

The magnet idea in this thread is really clever, and so is the one about those small sliding containers.

I was in the same boat you are. I thought the utility box was for terminal stuff but it finally drove me nuts that I just decided to get the terminal box. The little boxes do help but I will say I have less tackle in there because of space issue. Which for me is great because I have WAY too much as is.

I’ll be honest, my hooks bind up in a ball so tight they can’t jump the dividers.  It makes no difference which hook I grab for, every single one in that compartment is coming out as one and then I’ll poke myself 15 times until 1 falls free.  🤣
