buzzbait with toad

Featured Replies

I have been trying a skirtless buzzbait made for a soft plastic toad. The one I have is the scott canterbury pro buzz. The problem is the big weight keeper is too big and rips the toad apart. The toad is a zoom horny toad. I use megastrike to lube the keeper and put it on nice and straight but in a short time the toad rips open and is ruined. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a better buzzbait for toads or maybe a better toad for this buzzbait? Thanks.

This is the style I use. Usually with some super glue but it works ok without it. Maybe if you super glue the toad on yours it would hold up better?

I would glue it but ultimately it sounds like the keeper just isn't made correctly for the Zoom Horny Toad. You might look at the one Picasso makes. I had one briefly before I put it in one of those invisible trees. It worked pretty well with the Zoom toad but unfortunately, I didn't catch anything on it.

I run the Buckeye G Buzz with any variety of toads and have had zero issues.
