Urchin Baits

I've had great success on the Moeba for sure. Everyone is trying to figure out how to rig and how to retrieve but there's not just one way. My success has come with rigging it various ways but always retrieving jertkbait style. Alternatively if you haven't tried it you can retrieve like you're stroking a jig, pull it all the way, let it fall and hold on. For me it always seems like it's on the fall, but I fish heavily stained water with low to no visibility. Best advise anyone could give you is to never stop trying. What they don't like one day they might like the next. Just make sure it's a slow fall, if you're using weight make sure it's not too heavy. Best of luck!!!

Thought these would work just not any better than other baits. Fished for about 2 hours from the shore earlier and caught three. They were the 3 biggest LM I have caught all year 4.5, 6, and 5lbs. Su

All the hype and marketing makes it sound like a "magic lure". There's no such thing.

I don't know, but if you want to stay ahead of game, I would be willing to sell you two helicopter lures glued together for $150.

I've discovered a sure fire way to use them, just like a bladed jig. Leave them in their original packaging hanging on the hook at your favorite tackle store. Guaranteed to not catch fish because you'll never use them and I'm adamant about showing them something different. There are plenty of 'something different' offerings out there for me to waste my hard earned money on, I don't need another.

Finally had a breakthrough today.. Used the prickly pear in mosquite red with a 1/8oz nail screw insert weight and a size 1 Neko hook and got three bites which resulted in my biggest three bass of the day.. I was fishing grass flats in 12-15 ft and they all came up out of the grass (couldn’t see them on livescope) and ate it about halfway down as it was falling.. Felt good to finally have some success!

I guess the big question is…What’s the best way to rig theses baits?

Treble hook,Frog hook, shakey head

I got a Yamamoto uni I’m going to try. Once I figure⅘ out how I want to rig it.

Any pictures?

I used a Fullcasi Coike on a carolina rig last week. 3/4 oz weight, 30 inch leader, frog hook. Outside weedline in 6 fow. I could see bass on graph 2 ft off bottom. This is a high floater so worked well for these fish.
