A Trip Report for pdxfisher!

@pdxfisher, the renowned West Coast angler and paddler, requested more pond pics in my report, so this report is for him. Here's what I saw when I first launched this morning:

See the weeds in the foreground, a mix of lily pads, pond weed, and grass? That's what I fished this morning. I was looking to hook a giant like I hooked last time. I didn't hook one, but I did catch many healthy bass, 34 in all, giving me 1,053 for 2026. Here are two of my bass:

Now two more pond pics!

Back to bass. All but one were caught on T-rigged worms, both Zoom Trick worms and Senkos, with unpegged tungsten bullet weights. Most were caught casting to the edges of weeds and in openings in the weeds:

See how the two bass above bulge with muscle? They sure used that muscle! More pretty pics!

Here are two of the biggest bass, both caught in little rivers that flow out of bogs. The first one hit my lure and charged my canoe. Then she ran behind me, forcing me to play her with the rod on my shoulder, and then hooked my line on a submerged tree. Fighting bass in the little rivers is always exciting:

Another two healthy bass:

And one last pretty pic for my pal, PDXfisher!

Great report! Those are some burly bass! Sounds like it was quite the circus in that creek!

Those pictures of your pond are just gorgeous. They are so peaceful and serene. They are so relaxing to look at. Your eye with the camera is outstanding!

Alex, I can tell you from experience, five experiences.......Katie's Pond is the most beautiful place on earth! Water clarity is good, and we shared the pond and little rivers with beaver, loons, Kingbirds, Osprey, and nobody else! You pull up to her turnaround in the oaks and maples, walk a short way through the forest, walk out on duckboards made of the following.......large split logs flat side up.......pallets sitting on top of the logs which are pushed into the bog......rough sawn boards nailed to the top of pallets. This extends several yards over the bog until you arrive at the tiny inlet creek (just wide enough for a canoe). The inlet has a large enough platform to safely load, unload, and store materials. From there it is a short backstroke out into the pond but we caught bass in the little inlet. The whole pond is premium bass habitat. It doesn't really matter where you fish, these aggressive bass will find you!

You fish in a stunningly beautiful place.

Bob, you did a great job describing it. Better than I've ever done, I think. Thanks, Buddy!
