New!

Hello from Colorado. Came back to fishing after years away. Started Tenkara fishing last year, and then started pond fishing with a spinning setup. Really started bass fishing in earnest this spring as it was obvious trout in streams would be rough with this years lack of snow.

Reading some really good content here as my quest to learn continues.

It's great on small rivers and streams. And surprisingly fun in small ponds. I've caught a few small bass on mine and it's a good fight!

There's some good super cheap options if you just want to get your feet wet.

Welcome to BR. Bass are a lot more fun than trout unless your into steelhead, Lakers or big brownies.

@BahnzoBass About 8 years ago give or take, I watched a number

of YouTube vids of Japanese Tenkara masters, the American dudes

who brought it over here, etc. I've done a ton of long pole fishing (no

reel) over the past 20 years. Learned some techniques from an elderly

Korean gent. Lots of fun. But most days my preference is to be out in

my kayak enjoying nature and finding the bass. Or whatever wants to

take the hook.

Welcome! I've never trout fished, but I think you're going to really enjoy bass fishing!
