Any experience with the Tatula ELITE P/F??

Featured Replies

I've been using a Tatula. type r for my flippin stick and It seems to struggle with 50# PP. Maybe its the line, maybe knot...lol. I'm thinking of changing it to 40# Super Slick and/or getting the ELITE P/F.

Also, I can find the 7.1:1 cheaper than the 8.1:1. Is there really any difference? I would think the lower gear ratio would give you more cranking power.

I don't have that reel - but I prefer a higher gear ratio for flipping/pitching to get them out of the weeds faster.

How many more ipt will the 8.1 give you than the 7.1?

I have the previous model elite p/f 8 speed, spooled with 80lb max quarto, ~65lb diameter.

Never had any issues with it, definitely prefer a high speed reel for punching to get the bait out and onto the next spot as fast as possible.

Cranking power isn't really an issue since the rod is doing all the work in those fights.

I had the 2019 PF. Super solid reel. Was never able to get it dialed in to my liking and ended up moving on from it.

My heavy cover oriented reels are all Bantam MGL now. No regret.

There is a 9 cm difference per handle turn 7:1 vs 8:1. 2.54 cm per inch = 3.54 inches per turn.

I have the previous model and it’s oretty sweet. I have zillions, street’s and I don’t mind fishing the pitch flip at all. Great reel
