so in your opinion  what is the best rod, reel, combo and company?

ill post my opinion in a little bit i have to think about it but i think for reel im gunna have to say my revo stx i just got it this morning gunna go use it later today ;D

Now, how would you know that if you have never used the reel? Then too, even if a reel is fantastic right out of the box, you won't know if it's really a "great" reel for a year or two. I'm not bashing Abu Garcia, it just doesn't make a lot of sense (to me) to tout any equipment until it has a track record. My 1977 Ford Granada ran fine for a month or two, but it was NOT a great car.

On a different note:

There is no "best rod/reel/combination," there are simply "favorites." My best/ favorite is a G.Loomis GXL PR844S/ Shimano Stella 2500FB. However, for soft plastics or jigs it's not worth a poop! (The tip is too soft).

There are too many variables in this simple question...

well i have 4 rod/reel combos...2 spinning...2 casting...i have 2 abu garcia cardinal C101's and 2 abu garcia 5501 C3's.....of all the spinning reels i have used over the years..these are by far my favorite...havent used too many baitcasters but i really like the C3's.....they are all mounted on cheap $20 walmart rods...except one cardinal is on a guide series rod....the others are berkley equalizer, berkley cherrywood and the other is on a shakepere rod which is 6'6"...the rest are 6'...all are MH except the equalizer, it is a med...anyway of all the stuff i have used in my life...these are the best to me..and all are priced well

im sorry i said that wrong i ment your favorite.....im just saing i thikn it will be the best i have no idea if it will or not but ive herd nothing but good about it.....right now my favorite is a abu garcia tgc5000 reel on a abu rod i got for like 30 bucks

Right now I'm LOVING the two BPS Extremes with Shimano Stradic 2500's

One is a 7' Heavy and the other is a 7' Medium Heavy. Got em on sale, not dissapointed! For an off the shelf rod I have been impressed. If it puts fish in the boat, I'm lovin' it!  ;D
