St. Croix Avid AS69MLXF

Featured Replies

Just ordered one of these from BPS for my Father's day present (along with some other goodies, of course).  I will be using it for drop shotting and shaky heads primarily with a little bit of tube and grub fishing thrown in for good measure.  How'd I do?  I was going to start a thread debating the merits of this rod vs. Loomis, Daiwa, Shimano, All-Star, Lamiglas, etc., but I didn't have the heart to go through with it so I just decided for myself.  I already have BPS Extremes, Loomis and Lamiglas rods so I hate to admit the main reason I ordered it was to try a new brand.  St. Croix was next on my list to try, so there you go.

I have one of these matched up with a Daiwa Tierra 2000.

I use it for dropshotting, shakyheading, and split-shotting.  I freakin' LOVE this rod.

Me thinks...

You're going to like it...a lot!

Happy Father's Day!

You should absolutely LOVE it!  And it will probably become your favorite topwater rod also!  Good choice.  If you were in my neck of the woods, I would have said get the MXF but I think you did just right for your location.
