I would like to get some input on St. Croix's Avid series of rods and in specific the cranking models.  Has anyone used these?

I have a 7ft, Medium Light fast tip, Avid, SPINNNING rod. I love it. Very sensitive, light, casts far, awesome.  I caught up to 4-5lb smallmouth and 3-4lb largemouth so far on it, had to play them for like 3-5mins though cuz of the medium light action.   I am going to buy another one this week. either 6ft or 6ft6, for fishing creeks and stuff.

Before I bought mine, I searched the forum, there was a few threads on Avids, everyone loves there's.  

I own like 10 avids, I do use the 7' med-hvy moderate for cranks though I think it is a little stiff next time i might get the med moderate action. or a composite rod I wonder if they still make the pro glass rods?

but yeah avid rods are great.

I personally would be checking into the SC1 glass CB rods in their line up...

I have the 6'6" MM crankbait rod and it does cast a crank a mile.  

The St. Croix Avid AC66MF is my "all-around" baitcaster. Although I would generally recommend a rod with Moderate or Slow Action for crankbaits, this rod has a soft tip and works very well for a number of lure categories.  I have the rod matched with a high speed reel (Shimano Calais 6.2:1) which is a perfect match for spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, jerkbaits, crankbaits and top water. I feel the tip is too soft for soft plastics and jigs.

I have several St Croix rods and love all of them. My crankbait rod is an Avid 6'6" MM and I like it a lot better than the BPS Crankin Stick it replaced. You can't go wrong with an Avid.
