favorite drop shot rod?

Featured Replies

What is yalls favorite drop shot spinning rod.  I prefer spinning setups when drop shotting, but haven't had any real hands on time with some of the better rods.  What do yall use?

I have a St. Croix Avid AS69MLXF that I really like for drop shotting.  They have this same rod in the Legend Tournament series if you're looking for something better.

bassboy, The rod Ceph mentioned is a good rod. I personally use the Dobyns 681 Spinning rod and it has the split grip no foregrip design. Also has a very unique dropshot keeper that the Croix above doesn't have.

The one that I use and have grown very fond of is a G-Blank ML Spinning. I put a dropshot keeper on it myself and it is perfect. That keeper is the way to go. It saves alot of time and headaches.

After taking a look at the Steez offering, I still like the Stella better.

I have the casting version of the Legend Tournament and I love it.  It is the same blank as the spining version.  No hook keeper at all but at least you can feel good about buying a rod made in the USA :) With the finest Japanese components of course :)  I use a little Hook&loop tie as a hook keeper for my DS any ways.  I would have just as soon gone with the Avid though, I perfer the handle it.
