I recently purchased the Revo S/Bass Pro Shops Bionic Blade combo, and the setup is not very balanced.  I was wondering if anyone has bought the Weight balance kit for these rods, and if so how do they work.  

If your asking how they technically work, you put one of the washers in where the screw on the plug goes at the butt of the rod.

The kit works great but butt weighted rods are a matter of personal preference. It will make the rod heavier but makes the tip feel lighter. All my rods are weighted this way but I have had some people pick up my rod and ask me how I can fish with a rod that is so heavy.

I've used those on my extreme rods and took them off.  

Balanced the rod alright but Just too heavy.  

i balance all my rods except my pistol grip.properly balanced rods fatigue you less than imbalanced rods.

They work just fine.  I have them on all my BPS Extreme rods and as someone said I have less hand/arm fatigue.  I have a bit of arthritis in my hands and this definitely helps.  

Balanced all at the reel seat with the reels in place.

I highly reccomend taking it off. unless you want a broken rod. In MY expierances, it does feel good. But when i casted my lure one time, all of a sudden BAM! the whole "screw-in compartment" broke off, with the cork....this not only happend once, but twice! now I know you might just by pass this comment, but I would try your rod for a couple of fishing trips with out the balancing kit and just see how it feels/if you can get used to it. If not, then i guess use it.

BPS sells a cheaper model with a rubber end cap and assorted lead discs.  Works just as well.

I have tried fishing with the unbalanced rod, and it is just not comfortable to fish with.   I went ahead and bought the basspro shops balance kit, and it should be here tomorrow.  i will let people know what i think of it next monday.

If you have two reels that are the same in every way except weight then try switching reels.  That 1/2 oz. can make a whole lot of difference.

if you balance your rods to the exact center of the reel seat then reel weight makes no difference.
