I'm having problems with this knot. Here is the problem I can tie it fine with Power Pro but with 8lb

test and a size 6 circle hook for drop shotting I cannot get the line fed. I have tried pinching the line but it will not get small enough to thread. I know this is an easy knot but I really cant figure this out.

Please help.

Just put the end of the line through the eye of the hook and then turn it around and put it back through the eye. This will make your loop.

Dude I am a total retard. Thats great because I spent forever doing it like a moron. Thank you for your help.

Ghetto, you ain't alone. My partner never tied a palomar on a small hook for the same reason.  

It's called a "brain fart" and we all have 'em.

Recently when I saw a coworker trying to show a customer how to tie a Palomar I didn't know there was another way, I always threaded the end through both ways.

When I showed them both all they could say was Duh  :-?

I was using a small piece of line to feed through and putting it in the loop and pulling it through when my buddy asked why I didn't just feed the tag back through?  As was said Brain Farts.

Now, c'mon...that's funny. I know a lot of times when someone shows me a simple solution to what I thought was a complex problem, all I can think to say is...DUH!

Well . . . . I hate to admit it but when I first started using the palomar knot I made the same boo boo.  

I did the same thing when i first started using that knot.

I got lucky.  Before tying the knot for the time I researched it on the internet.  If I hadn't, I would still be trying to push that  doubled line through the eye of the hook.  

 I thought I was the only one that had that light bulb turn on over my head when I heard about putting the tag end back thru the hook eye. Man, did I feel DUMB :-[!!!

Yes, I will admit it too. I was fighting that 25lb test for flippin one day and forcing the loop through the eye and my partner said.............. and I thought it was a miracle,lol, how can something so simple escape me !!! Like everyone else, Duhhhhhhh !!!! ;D
