Both are on sale, both are good from what I understand. I've never owned either. The Diawa is on sale for less, but most people on here are shimano crazy......I'd like to spend my money on the best option regardless of price difference. Thanks fellas.

I just picked up a Stradic 2500 from Dicks last week for $75 and it is an excellent reel for the money.  

I went back to pickup another and they were sold out.

Darn it.  I want to see the results of the pole, but dont want to vote cause I dont know what the better real is.  Is ther any way to see the pole without affecting it with my uneducated vote.

After thinking about it I guess it makes sense to have people vote even if they don't own either one. I just don't want people voting based on brand loyalty alone. If you have a valid point by all means vote. Sorry for the confusion.

The Regal series is not a $100 reel, if I remember correctly they retailed for about $40-50.

I am a Daiwa guy, and I voted Stardic, because the Shimano is the better reel (it also costs double) .But to be fair, you should compare the Stardic to the old Capricorn (the silver colored), wich retailed for the same price as the Stardic. And the Capricorn is sightly better than the Stardic (Tackletour)

It's not fair to compare apples and oranges...

I voted Stradic not only because I own one but also because there was a time when I used to have a tackle store, sold 20 or 25 Regals and they are not 100 dollars reels, they are 50 dollars reels, good reels for the money I add, but not as good as a Stradic.

The Capricorn was in the same level of the Stradic and it was difficult to say which one was better, one thing is for shure, the Capricorn was smoother than the Stradic.

So it's safe to conclude two things: The stradic is the projected winner, and the regal isn't $100.

The stradic gets my vote out of the two!!!!  If we were talking about the daiwa sol that would be another story. ;D ;D ;D
