What knot works best on flurocarbon line?

I use the palomar or double palomar...I've heard these are the worst knots for shock absorbtion though. I've yet to have big issues since I fish alot of heavy line. The improved clinch I hear is the best for flipping and pitching where there's not much line out.

Improved clinch.  In Tackle Tour's fluorocarbon shootout part two, they tested knots on several different fluorocarbon brands.  The improved clinch consistently tested out 6% higher than the palomar.  I've actually noticed a difference since switching over a month ago...you'll notice it when you break off a bait that is hung up.  

I use the double palomar mainly. Good knot, and nice and easy to tie.

I have been using Trilene Fluorocarbon all summer with a clinch knot and have not had any issues.

i like the trilene knot... i haven't had a knot break on me yet... (knock on wood)

I have been using the Palomar for so long, it seems like a GIANT step backwards to return to the improved clinch knot. I'm particularly disappointed reading the report regarding the San Diego Jam. It's fun and easy to tie, so I have been using it a little, too.

Hmm...Time to revisit an old favorite. Back to the basics.

So with 10# line the Improve clinch would break at 7.8# and the unit at 6.9# with all other falling I between.  Unless you are setting your drag within a sneeze of the breaking point any of these knots should be fine.

I am biased though.  I have bean using the Uni forever and am trying to justify not switching knots.  ;D

One thing about the San Diego jam is the tag end is inline with your mainline and all the other knots your tag is at 90 degrees which is a weed magnet.

No...with the Palomar Knot, the tag and mainline, line up.

I started using 15lb fluorocarbon Pline this year.  Ike and several other pros mentioned using an improved clinch knot.  I tried it and have found that I screw up the clinch very often.  I lick, I lick and I lick and I still can screw it up.  It will pull out after a while.  I never screw up a palomar knot.  Based on my experiece, I will stick with the palomar eventhough I have heard the pros state that you should use the improved clinch.
