Knot??

Featured Replies

OK this might be my last line question, what's your favorite knot for all the different lines out there?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

Palomar knot is easy to tie and will work with any type of line. It retains knot/line strength as well as any knot.

Try it!

Ronnie

I always use the palomar knot, never had a problem with it.

Thanks for the welcome, I was actually trying to find out what knots you use for different lines, Mono, Braided, Fluorocarbon and Yo-Zuri Hybrid and P-Line Fluoroclear. Sorry about the confusing. :)

Thanks

Joe

I use the palomar for mono and the improved clinch for fluoro.  I wouldn't hesitate to use the palomar for the Hybrid, but for floroclear I think I would use the improved clinch.  I had some breakoff issues with floroclear, and I think they might have been solved with the improved clinch...the improved clinch has proven to be the best fluorocarbon knot, and floroclear behaves like fluorocarbon (albeit a soft one).

Welcome aboard!

I generally tie a Palomar Knot.

I have no issues with this knot fishing Yo-Zuri Hybrid line.

I use the improved clinch or the palomar knot

For mono, a double (or triple) loop clinch knot never has failed me once. For braid, double loop uni knot works like a charm. I've used these knots for quite some time and never have had a problem. I've considered trying other knots but I figure, heck, if something aint broken then dont fix it.
