Is there any certain rod for a round baitcaster ..i put my new cardiff on my old baitcasting rod and it just looks akward?? maybe its just me  ::)

    I have two CTE200GT. One is saddled to a G.Loomis GLX MBR844C (for jigs), the other is mounted on a Lamiglas SR705R (deep cranking). These combinations match up very nicely.

    It is all a personal preference,  go with what you have confidence in.

    I have a Shimano Calcutta 251 and I have tried it on a few different rods.  The one that I have found to work the best is a G. Loomis MBR844C IMX.  It just seems to balance correctly with this rod.

    I'll throw in a curve ball here. Not sure what power/action you're looking for but for heavy power/moderate action you can't beat a Castaway HG-40 7ft heavy action/mod action.
