Now I bought my baitcasters, so I need two spinning reels and I was looking at the Symetre or do you guys have a better reel for $ 80.00??  I did ask about the Revo S or the Citica and I had alot of you respond and that helped me out, so I just thought that I should get your input on the spinning side! :-/ :-/

Daiwa Exceler...I like it for several reasons...most importantly a little bit smoother, more line capacity, and its about $10 cheaper. Hope this helps.

Personally, I like Shimano so I would say that the Symetre is a great choice for the money. I happened to get my new Stradic FI 2500 for $80 this past Saturday, but since its not likely that you'll get the deal that I did, I'd say that the Symetre is a great choice. If you can find an "old" Stradic FH, they should probably go for around $90 on sale. Admittedly though, most places have probably sold out of the "old" Stradics by now.

A lot of good reels in that price range. For another $10, you can get a Pflueger Supreme. I thought I saw somwhere a store had them for about $85, if you can find that store. Symetre is highly regarded on this forum. Really can't go wrong with it either. There is alway's the new Wave reel brought to you by the "Bass professor" himself, Doug Hannon. 8-)

Most members of the Shimano Possee think the Symetre is the "best value" in the  Shimano line-up. I'm sure you will be very happy with this reel.

like pfluemis said, for another $10 you can get the pflueger supreme. i just picked up an 8035 and it's buttery smooth and quiet. light as a feather, too.

I have a symetre and a supreme and I prefer the supreme. Both are good reels..............Al

 Have never fished the other 2 reels mentioned but can't say enough good things about the Symetre 2500 I own, especially at their price ...

I have a 2500 Symetre and a 2500 Daiwa Regal-xi....Even the though the Daiwa costs less,  I prefer the Daiwa's.  All Daiwas have the wide spool. Line seems to flow off the wider spool of the Daiwa a little bit better than the Symetre, IMO.  Symetre is still a very nice reel, don't get me wrong, it's a very smooth reel for sure!!  If it had a wider spool it would be perfect.

I own several Shimano Symetres, even a couple of older Stradics FG (the ones with the wooden handles), and the Daiwa Regal and Laguna. I don't mind the Daiwa, but I love my Shimanos. I have a friend who owns a tackle store who tells me that they sell much more Shimanos to Daiwas but about the same amount of reels come in for repairs/warranty exchange. Don't get me wrong, I like the Daiwa, but you can't go wrong with the Symetre. The Symetre and Stradic (at least in the past) have basically the same exact parts. The only difference is a cosmetic difference and the fact that Stradic is more expensive since it is made in Japan while the Symetre is made in Malaysia (I believe).

I almost forgot about my Daiwa Regal. For what I paid for it, I don't think you can beat it.  ;D

By the way, the New Stradic is closer to the Stella than the Symetre.

Thanks guys, it will be the Symetre then. BUT maybe I would think of a Pflueger Supreme. I will go to the Bass Pro Classic on feel trade in day and see what kind of deal I can work out.
