Just would like to know what size line you use for jigs. Do you use the same size for pitchin and flippin and for deep weed lines?

I use a good 20lb braid or even some 20lb suffix mono. Braid is best, especially for heavy to thick cover.

17 lb. PLine CXX

Every thing else: Berkley Big Game 15#

I used to use 12# trilene mono but recently switched to 15# flouro. I caught more big ones with the 12 but I switched to the 15 right when the bite turned off.

Here's the deal IMHO.

The heavier the line the heavier the jig you are going to need.  You'll need this to stay in touch with the jig.

Ditto, the more the jig is dressed and the deeper it is fished.  

Also there is a huge advantage top lines that don't stretch much.
