  1. I was fishing sunday, Zoom Ultravibe speed craw( little salt) and YUM crawfish ( too much salt) We were spraying YUM3x on the YUM baits and getting fewer strikes n the YUM's with the salt and spray, Got more strikes on the ultra vibe, usead the YUM and rubbed most of the salt off and started getting strikes, now it could have been just the fsh but a little thing Ive noticed.
  2. Don't want to steal your post but how do you guys rig your flukes( 4/0 hook 5/0 hook? spinning reel, casting reel? rod? how you rig the hook on the bait( I know sounds stupid never fished one.)
  3. Well, right now, none of them. Buti usually goes down like this Spawn- 10-11 inch black worm( Usually a zoom) Rest of the year whatever in my tackle box( that weighs 45lbs) the fish will bite on, been out there before and they will bite on something I havent fished in years.
  4. Well, I live in Alexandria,La where they are made. So they are a bit cheaper and everybody has a handfull in their box, I fish them fast, slow, pull pull pull reel pull pull pull reel, any way possible you think of a new way if the bass want them they will take it, I like the blue and chrome, the smokey joe, and the chrome and black.
  5. Alright in resposne to my prior post, you have pushed my curriosity button what is it meant by pegging a weight? Do you mean the bullet weights that screw in or am I missing something?
  6. I was wondering how most of you guys rig and fish tube baits, I am not too familliar with them and havea few packs Id like to give a try. I read the little article about tubes on here but would really like to get some advice from guys who use them everyday.
  7. well, I asked the same question early this year, I work for my dad and I do not have time to fish tournaments but when I graduate and begin to work, I am going to, school really can mess up tourney fishing, get done with school, Im not college material, Im much better with my hands so Im going to become and elctronics tech and hopefully work with boats and that will get me started, but enough about me. If you do not have time for a job a sponsor does not have time for you, just try to fish these cheaper local tourneys and try to work, I can tell you if you slack off too much in the first years they will cut you loose as t the drop of a hat, its hard work, dont expect to be a millionaire KVandam overnight, if you started tomorrow you would be mid 20's before you really start makeing good money. Dont get discouraged its a hard process but once you there fishing and sponsored its there as long as you can catch fish.
  8. what is the difference in flippin and pitching? what kind of rod/reel/ do you usually use for this type of fishing. I know you use braided line becaus eof all the trash you fish in... any other help... please ;D
  9. +1, I learned that lesson the hard way. Ohh also be sure to lube that beil up, youlll learn you can loose a lure on the cast when the beil flips back over halway through and your bait goes into another guys boat.
  10. I use a good 20lb braid or even some 20lb suffix mono. Braid is best, especially for heavy to thick cover.
  11. so fish like the weekend series? I was reading that when you fish a regional open and if you finish top 5 you qualify for the elite series and I guess you go from there.
  12. I have always wondered what you have to do to fish the bassmaster classic I mean like how do you qualify any insight? I hope to become a professional angler when I graduate from college.
  13. Well i have experience with Pflueger, Quantum,Daiwa, and little shimano and I honestly have to say the daiwa is about 12years old its a 2ball bearing and we still fish with it. Some of these guys who say about poor quality probally abuse their reels and dont take care of them. IF you make an investment and take care of any of these reels they will last for years.
  14. Iron silk is like cheap rubbers, you can use it but dont get mad when it breaks because you were too cheap to buy anything else. Honestley I spooled my reel with some and I made some test cast and cut every inch of that crap off and went back to suffix.
  15. I have a few H2O express baits even though my soul belongs to Bill Lewis, They look great, I have uyet to fish one but they look better than some ofg the other baits in the junk Academy sales.
  16. Well I csst with both hands to get maxx distance, but if Im pitching Ill use my right hand and do the switch. But I cant cast left if I have too. I like to use both bc and spinning reels so I just cast double handed and leave the rod in my left hand and start to crank it in!
  17. you mean like a zebco? I still use a zebco for various fishing, usually bream or white perch maybe some bass if I forget a rod or make a quick trip. I know one thing if i go 10 or 20 times a year Ive had a good year. I get to go about 5-10 times maxx probally more this year now since we got something to make the acres go by faster. I learned how to fish and basics of fishing on a zebco, it is a great reel and for 15bucks you get 3-5 years, I got one that was like 4 years old but I messed it up and it locked up on me.
  18. Well Ive got to say, I liked the cajun red cast on my zebco, I am a sufix man by choice. I have to say that I have not caught anything on any of these soft plastics everyone recomends, but I just havent fished much. I got a PFLUEGER Trion and I like it but the next reel I buy is gonna be Daiwa or Quantum and it will stay like that, Shimano is just overated, I mean they are good reel but I dont see the difference other than 200 bucks. Ha storm baits were not recomended it was my careless waste of 4bucks.
  19. I am wanting to get into making my own baits, does any one have any generally worned melting pots or molds or necessities they would like to get rid of? If so drop me a pm and we will work out a deal hopefully.
  20. WAIT!!!! What does his wife look like..... I see your revenge!!!!!!!!!!
  21. You have got to be kidding me..... You go to Iraq to risk your life, you ex-buddy gets injured and comes home and ruins your stuff while your gone. If he was in a wheelchair I would push him down 10flights of stairs and say we are even. I know you were going to send me some jigs when you get some made but be sure to stock up for yourself before you send me some, Thats one hell of a buddy you HAD. Thats the kind of guy who you should never help again.
  22. None of these. Bill Lewis Lures is my personal favortie. Small company with a big impact on the fishing industry.
  23. Well I am completly oposite from ya'll. I have caught all my bass on hard crank baits and rat-l-traps. I just fish the trap under the water and reel in fast and they kill it! I really like the blue/silver one. I just wish people sold the bill lewis crank baits. Ive never caught a bass on a soft plastic.
  24. Just looking at them made me go" these baits honestly suck more than any thing in this strange world we call bass fishing." Honestly a fish will look at that thing and laugh like hes swimmin along and you pop one i the water and he sees it and he goes" HES TRYING TO CATCH ME ON THIS CRAP? BWAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAAAAHAAAA!!!! you gotta be kidding me a drunk bass wouldnt bite one of these" How many big bass have been caught on these pieces of fossillised feces, really maybe like 0 max?
  25. Well none of my english teachers have told me I was butchering the english language or made me feel like a complete idiot. But i geuss your right I was just having a bad day that day and was just venting.
