Your Christmas Present

About a week to go and your wife is frantic. She might get you some new underwear, you always need that. But how can she really surprise you? She thinks you already have every lure ever made and wonders why anyone needs ten fishing poles. So, help her out. You've had a good year. You already own a $40,000 bass boat and a $30,000 truck to pull it. God knows you don't need any more tackle (at least until the new stuff comes out in '05). Well, here is my suggestion:SPLURGE! Your first car probably didn't cost as much as a Stella but you're not a kid anymore. Match that up with my favorite rod, G.Loomis GLX PR844S. If you prefer a baitcasting rig, PR844C matched up with a Shimano Calais or if you've had a REALLY good year...BOTH! Wrap them up and put 'em under the tree. When the kids or grandkids bring you your gift you'll be surprised and happy. Thank your wife and let her know that's the best gift she has ever gotten you. Forget about the price, she won't have a clue.

Anybody else take a look at the back pages?

Wish I had the nerve to try this out.

Cheers,

My wife would sniff that one out.  Anything that ends up under the tree is investigated to the very end.  I did try this tactic one year and I blamed my purchase (Laptop and Ipod) on Santa.  The kids are now scared for life  ;D.

::)

Funny you should say that, 10 years ago I got a Lazy Boy coach for Christmas.  No words or hints were needed. ;)

A new washer and dryer, a new stove, a new icebox, a new $1500 computer, a new $800 sewing machine, and a good car that alway's works right when she gets in it. She dosn't say a word when I buy a cheap $430 rod and reel combo, Christmas or not. ;D

I can't believe I have not thought of this before.  Looks like I'll be getting something "extra" this year.   ::)

I've been married for 22 yrs; we made an agreement 15 yrs ago when it comes to birthday, anniversary, & Christmas presents. I buy my presents and she buys her presents; never had an argument over getting some thing we didn't want.

No significant other here,lol.

Christmas and B-days are pretty much present-less these days.  I'm sure I could talk MYSELF into something special though ;)

I plan on having Fletchero craft me a matching baitcaster for my Lake Fork rod as a x-mas present to "Me"   :)

Yep my wife and I both agreed that Christmas time presents are for our son only.

He doesn't believe in Santa anymore (8 years old) but it is still fun. Kids these days want all sorts of expensive gadgets. We don't get him them all for sure because I'm not a fan of kids having cellphones and crap at the age of 8.

Point is.......my wife would kill me with this rule in place lol. She would call the bank or credit card company to track down the price lol.
