Which Shimano reel

Featured Replies

I have been on a hiatus the past year and haven't wet a hiook in a while.  Getting back situated now and starting it back up.  I have three Curados, the ones before they jacked up the price.  My question now is, before I go spend all the money, which Shimano is comparable to the $99 Curado, the Cruxis or Citica.  I see Cab and BPS both have rebates for all three, just would like some perspective from people who have used these two.  Thanks

BTW,

Shimano didn't exactly "jack" the price, the new Curado is a COMPLETELY different reel.

I agree on the Citica, I don't like the fact that the Cruxis has a plastic drag star, and casr control cap. But the old green Curado every one loves had these parts made from plastic too.

I like the curado better, but the Citica is a very good reel, best for the price when it was at $120, now that' it's at $90 it's a steal.

Bought four Curado 100 DSV and they are nice and very smooth. Would do the same purchase again.

Very close, some say better.

I like this reel a lot.  I think that it's a great reel for it's price point.

Here is a review of the Citica.  Since this review, Shimano has released a 100 size reel.  I think that the article states that there isn't.

Shimano needs to come out w/ a Citica 100 left hand! >:P

Kinf of what I was expecting.  I love my Curados, dont have the money to throw at a couple new ones yet.  Starting turkey hunting this season too, there is a little mouse that keeps taking money out of my wallet for that...haha..... Looks like the Citica is the way to go.  Preciate all the info.
