Getting a new flippin stick for jigs and frogs. Can't pull the trigger on the reel.

Revo STX HS 7:1

Daiwa Zillion HS 7:1

Or Revo Premier

I'd go with the premier in a heartbeat if it was HS , but it's not.

The revos are smaller then the zillion from what I hear, which is a plus as i love the 100 size shimano reels.

any other reels i should consider?

Daiwa Zillion HS 7:1

;)

Yah yah! I already know your opinion !

Wanna upgrade my drag for free like you do? If so, I'll go grab a zillion.

I think my hands are too small and girly for a zillion to be honest. The I want something that resembles the 100 size shimano reels! Why don't the Daiwa JDM reels come in HS?!

6.4:1 isn't fast enough?

This is something I may be in the market for soon, a reel to use on a jig/frog combo. What attributes should I be looking for? Is a wide spool a big deal or would a 150 be OK? I was thinking about a 8.x:1 to help get excess line up quicker but should I get something a but slower that might offer me more torque/power?

Personally - if I'm tossing frogs or flipping/pitching jigs into the lily-pads or matted vegetation, I want to be able to haul it (and the fish) out of there as fast as possible. I do those on my 8.1:1 Fuego.

If it's running a swim-jig through thinner weeds or bouncing a football jig along the bottom, then it's the 7.3:1 President.

If your really flippin or pitching, your not making long cast's but rather short ones. In flipping you don't really cast. Look on youtube about how to flip, if don't already know. Pitching for me is maybe 20 to 25 yards at most, i.e as in punching.

Like MN, I also use a Diawa Fuego 8:1 reel, due to short amount of line you need, large capacity aren't needed. I also use that reel for froggin, so I have 50 lb braid spooled up on it.

If you have a 150, it will work, the speed is more important.
